The name Young Modern Design (YMD) was inspired by the Australian rock band Silverchair and their fifth studio album Young Modern. Even more specifically the opening track, young modern station is a song that is simple the has a modern flare on the melody and arrangement.
YMD gets it's inspiration from designers who push the bonderies of design and peoples concepts of what is "normal".
